Today was filled with announcements and new information and today, including today’s Nintendo Direct which showcased a number of games that are due later in the year. We also had a more detailed review of The Wolf Among Us 2 as well as the sad news the Dark Souls servers on PC are off until the release the game Elden Ring. More details are below.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Adding 48 New Courses This Year

The most recent Nintendo Direct brought with it an array of exciting announcements, among being that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be receiving some DLC with nearly 50 brand new tracks that will be added to the game in the 2022 timeframe. The tracks will feature remastered versions of the other Mario Kart tracks from the other games and will be accessible via the Booster Course Pass DLC that is due to launch in March. Other announcements worth noting include the announcement of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 as well as the announcement of the remastering for Chrono Cross.

It’s a good thing For PlayStation And Nintendo fans today in that Microsoft has stated its intention to continue to release Activision Blizzard games on other platforms despite the acquisition announcement made by Microsoft earlier in the year. Although it’s easy to say that this is a sign to show goodwill by Microsoft however, the reality is that Microsoft has faced a few problems with antitrust which has many concerned about the consolidation of the game industry. It’s possible that Microsoft may be keeping games on multi-platforms in order to avoid any future issues.

Dark Souls Servers Will Stay Offline Until After Elden Ring’s Launch

We have bad information to Dark Souls fans as the game’s server issues won’t be solved until after the release of the Elden Ring. A flaw within Dark Souls 3’s internet function was discovered just a few weeks ago that allowed hackers full access to another user’s PC. To prevent this from happening, FromSoftware completely shut down servers for each Dark Souls game, completely blocking players from playing online. Because Elden Ring is in the stage of its development, the efforts are concentrated on getting it out of the way prior to any other developments.
